Court on Saturday 10th June 34th Henry V111 1542
For as much as Robert Palmer kepeth one William Hales, William
Smyth, Richard Disse to the occupation of Calaundrying which persons
hath been apprenticed to the same occupacion and be very expert in
the same. Wherefore the same Robert by the said Maier and Aldermen
with the assent of the Masters of the occupacion Calaundrers in
admitted to use and exercise the same occupacion in his house by the
said persons or by such other persons who shall pleace beying expert
in the same occupacion. (Calaundrying was the pressing process in
the manufacture of felt)
